Overview

This project is a character-inspired espresso machine based on General Grievous from Star Wars. The design focuses on translating his visual language—floating panels, an exoskeletal structure, and a black-and-white color scheme with green accents—into a functional product.

The form emphasizes layered surfaces and a mechanical presence, aiming to capture Grievous’ iconic silhouette. To match this aesthetic, I shifted from solid to surface modeling in CAD, allowing for more complex and expressive geometry.

The result is a sculptural espresso machine that blends storytelling with industrial design.
